We at Allied Voices for Israel (AVI) are extremely proud and excited to officially launch our new Voices of Change Media Program!
Voices of Change is a media and content development program for college and university students studying in Ontario, Quebec, Alberta, and British Columbia. Are you an inspiring influencer and content creator? Then join us to get access to high-profile speakers and social media influencers, in-person events, workshops, and more!
The program runs for two semesters and strengthens students’ writing, digital storytelling, and online advocacy skills on complex topics, including identity, allyship, anti-Jewish hatred, and Israel. It is designed to strengthen students’ digital storytelling, social media, and online advocacy skills.
Through interactive workshops, insider sessions with journalists and content creators, and a supportive community of student leaders, participants will gain practical experience and the confidence to ensure their voices are heard.

Students will take part in three virtual workshops and one in-person session, designed to provide hands-on writing and editing skills, insights from experts, and strategies for effective online advocacy. This program is ideal for students interested in content creation, social media, writing, journalism, advocacy, or public affairs.
Undergraduate and graduate students with at least one semester remaining on campus are encouraged to apply. Participants must be able to attend an in-person workshop in their home city (Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, or Vancouver).

Fun times were had at our back to school mixer with students at the University of Toronto.
So many awesome UofT students came out to Toronto’s Firkin pub for an evening of drinks, networking, and connecting, while learning all about AVI’s Common Ground Ambassadorship and suite of programs and workshops for university student leaders.

The Coalition of Hindus in North America (CoHNA) put out a response to the hateful graffiti found in Mississauga earlier this week
We are horrified and deeply disturbed by the hateful graffiti with the inscription “Indian Rats” that was found in Mississauga, outside of Toronto, which boasts a large and diverse Hindu community.
“In my 20+ years as a management consultant, I've lived and worked across many countries. Yet I chose Canada because of its people. It breaks my heart to see growing racism, on our streets and communities, and all I hear is SILENCE!” writes Hindu ally, community leader, and AVI friend Ruchi Wali. “The rising hatred is a deep wound to the Canada we believe in.”
As an allyship organization devoted to combating hatred in all its forms, we unilaterally condemn the anti-Hindu hatred targeting our Hindu friends across the country. AVI stands with our friends at the Coalition of Hindus of North America (CoHNA) in condemning this hateful incident.

On our most recent episode of the Common Voices podcast, we had two of our incredible AVI Student Ambassadors join!
Host and Allied Voices for Israel (AVI) Founder and Executive Director Daniel Koren engaged in a meaningful conversation with York University student Michael Mandel and Toronto Metropolitan University student Liat Schwartz on their experiences as Jewish students on campus today.
Recent surveys reveal a concerning trend: Jewish students and their allies face more discrimination than any other minorities on Canadian campuses. Many are afraid to be openly Jewish or express their views on the Middle East conflict.
Liat discussed the hatred and discrimination she had to face on campus as a Jewish Student Leader fighting for change and coexistence at TMU, as discrimination against Jewish students and their allies is at an all-time high.

May we all be sealed in the book of life for an incredible year ahead full of peace, togetherness, acceptance, and love for all.
