We are sure you are all glued to the news as Israel's conflict with Iran entered its fourth day, with eight Israelis killed by Iranian ballistic missiles strike in Haifa and central Israel on Monday. May their memories always be a blessing, Baruch Dayan HaEmet.
On Thursday, just hours after Israel bravely launched preemptive strikes against Iranian nuclear facilities, Allied Voices for Israel (AVI) hosted a speaking engagement with Syrian-Lebanese advocate Rawan Osman at Vancouver's Temple Sholom.
Osman gave us insight into the current geopolitical climate of the Arab and Muslim worlds, and offered an astute commentary on the unfolding offensive on Iran.
“I said earlier today [before Israel launched its strike] that an operation in Iran is inevitable, imminent, and necessary,” said Osman during our talk.
Rawan Osman addresses the audience during Thursday's talk in Vancouver
“We know that the Iranians are bluffing and they're buying time. And at the end of the day it costs us lives in the Middle East while you [diplomats] discuss what might happen […] and the Israelis know it, and they were going to take action, and they did it, and G-d willing, Israel will prevail no matter what.”
A huge thank you to Vancouver Stands with Israel and Jewish Federation of Greater Vancouver for partnering with us on this incredibly timely event.

“This is not the Iranian people’s war, it is Ali Khomeini’s war and he’s solely and ultimately responsible for having brought things to this stage.”
In a recent interview on Fox News, Reza Pahlavi, the Crown Prince of Iran, bravely speaks out against Khomeini’s oppressive and barbaric regime, saying that “it’s just a matter of time” before the regime gets toppled.

She discusses her shift from YouTube makeup tutorials to global advocacy, and how moments like Operation Guardian of the Walls and October 7th compelled her to speak out.
Together, Justin and Ashley unpack common misconceptions about Israel, Zionism, and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, touching on media bias, propaganda, coexistence within Israel, and the complexity of Middle Eastern geopolitics.
Ashley explains why peace—not polarization—is the true goal, and why Canadians need to educate themselves beyond headlines.
