Allied Voices for Israel (AVI) stands resolutely with the students of conscience at McGill University in Montreal following a distressing incident of hateful and anti-Jewish graffiti.

Two of our courageous AVI alumni who are students at McGill – Samuel and Eva – are speaking out against the anti-Jewish graffiti that has marred the walls of McGill’s medical school, where Eva is currently pursuing her studies.

Such rhetoric is wholly unacceptable on our campuses. We call upon the university administration to take swift and decisive action to confront anti-Jewish hatred and to ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all students.

Natasha Hausdorff with AVI's Director of Campus Affairs Idaliah Snajdman

It was an honour for Allied Voices for Israel (AVI) to partner in last week's program featuring legal expert Natasha Hausdorff. AVI students and staff gathered to engage with this esteemed international authority and to hear her significant insights on Israel advocacy and international law.

In an era marked by rising antisemitism on campuses, in workplaces, and within our government, Natasha provided compelling, reasoned, and fact-based arguments to advocate for Israel and the Jewish community.

We are grateful to BAYT Brotherhood International Law Committee (BILC) and Wagner Sidlofsky LLP for hosting this vital program.

In the latest episode of Common Voices, Fatema Al Harbi shares how her misconceptions about apartheid were shattered when she first visited Israel

Before Bahraini peace activist Fatema Al Harbi first visited Israel, she – like many across the Arab world and the West – was conditioned to expect a nation defined by division and apartheid

On Episode 11 of the Common Voices podcast, Fatema recounts a transformative moment at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem where she witnessed a Muslim woman in a hijab and a Jewish man in a kippah walking together in harmony. When she shared this reality online, her followers were so entrenched in a singular narrative that they accused her of photoshopping the image.

Join us for delicious grilled cheese and tomato soup next Thursday, February 12th!

From 12-4pm on Thursday, AVI is teaming up with several campus organizations to host a swab drive in partnership with Hillel York, the Canadian Blood Services, and others, to help Daphne.

Daphne is currently facing an unimaginable battle against a rare form of blood cancer. With a prognosis of only two years, her survival depends entirely on finding a perfect match for a stem cell transplant.

At AVI, we know the power of a community that shows up for one another, spreads the word, and takes action when it matters most. We are calling on our network to help change the outcome for Daphne by joining the registry today or joining us at Hillel York on Thursday.

Come enjoy great food, learn about Daphne's story, and help her find a match!
