From the first day we started Allied Voices for Israel (AVI), we knew we wanted to bring in Yoseph Haddad because his mission personifies our mission – partnership.

Earlier this month, it was an honour to tour the country with Yoseph and our friend Emily Schrader, visiting four cities (Montreal, Toronto, Calgary, and Vancouver) in seven days, and engaging thousands of Canadians and visiting a few campuses and high schools along the way.

Keep scrolling for some highlights of our United We Stand tour with Arab-Israeli journalist and human rights advocate Yoseph Haddad.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude to our incredible Director of Operations & Development Lea J. Bloom, whose tireless efforts and leadership were key to the success of this nation-wide tour.

We are sad to share that this was Lea's last initiative as a staff member with AVI but we are so excited to watch her grow and excel as a leader in our community – especially in bringing the Nova Exhibition to Toronto next year! If you're interested in learning more, contact her at lea@goodpeoplegreatcauses.com.

Lea, you've been with AVI since before its official inception, and none of this would have been possible without your incredible energy, enthusiasm, negotiating skills, and unwavering dedication. We thank you wholeheartedly for everything you've done for us!

Yoseph Haddad at Concordia University

At our inaugural stop in Montreal, Yoseph taught students at Concordia University how to chant pro-Israel messages in Arabic. His energy was infectious and quickly caught on with students at Concordia, Jewish and non-Jewish, who stood their ground and proudly waved Israeli flags.

At our event in Montreal in partnership with Congregation Shaar Hashomayim, over 630 Canadians joined us to hear Yoseph speak and honour our amazing students and AVI Allyship Award recipient Reza Azarpoor.

Irwin and Ariela Cotler, as well as former Mayor Denis Coderre, joined us for our Montreal stop, with Irwin personally congratulating AVI's Founder and Executive Director Daniel for the work AVI is doing. We would like to thank the Shaar again for their incredible partnership on this event!

With our Toronto AVI Allyship Award winner Raheel Raza!

Yoseph waves hello to the crowd of over 600 in Toronto before his conversation with our AVI Student Ambassadors

At our Toronto stop, over 600 joined us as we celebrated the work of AVI Allyship Award recipient and human rights advocate Raheel Raza and bestowed certificates of appreciation to more than 20 AVI Student Ambassadors in attendance. Yoseph dazzled the crowd in conversation with our AVI Student Ambassadors Mishel Anisimob and Pe'er Krut.

Yoseph at Tanenbaum CHAT

We brought Yoseph to speak with nearly 300 students at Tanenbaum CHAT, the largest Jewish high school in Canada. He spoke about his experiences as an Arab living in Israel, his time serving in the IDF, and how to refute the falsehoods surrounding Israel, particularly as an Arab-Israeli.

No visit to Calgary would be complete without sporting some cowboy hats!

At our Calgary event, we met AVI Allyship Award Recipient MP Shuv Majumdar and gifted Yoseph a Calgary Stampede cowboy hat. Over 350 attended thanks to our incredible partners Calgary Jews Stand United.

In Vancouver, the energy in particularly incredible and the spirit of allyship was truly in the air! Over 600 attended our event with Yoseph and to honour our AVI Allyship Award recipient Grand Chief Lynda Prince as well as many AVI Student Ambassadors at high schools and universities in BC.

It was an honour to bestow Grand Chief Prince our Allyship Award in Vancouver. She performed a beautiful Song of Peace about Israel with a drum representing the 12 Tribes of Israel.

Another highlight was when Yoseph thanked the crowd for choosing him over Taylor Swift, who was performing that night. No small feat!

AVI would also like to thank all of our amazing sponsors for our United We Stand tour – we couldn't have done this without you!

Thank you to the approximately 2,200 people who joined us across four cities for an evening of allyship and inspiration. Until next time!

Finally, from all of us at AVI, I would like to wish you a Chag Chanukah Sameach, Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays!
