On July 9th, 2024, York University student Ronit Kogan was published in The Times of Israel for her piece discussing the challenges of navigating intersectionality within Israel advocacy, and how the complex ecosystem of nuanced perspectives from Palestinians and Jews can both be a help and a hindrance when trying to attain a deeper understanding of the conflict.
“As a Canadian student deeply engaged with my Jewish heritage, I stand at a unique crossroads of identity, politics, and activism. This intersectionality has been both a challenge and a catalyst for growth, especially against the backdrop of the global conversation on Palestinian rights,” writes Ronit.
“Participating in this broader discourse as a Jewish Canadian student means navigating a labyrinth of complex, often painful historical contexts and contemporary issues.”
