Canadians have an opportunity to stand in solidarity with the People of Iran and speak out against the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), a regime responsible for widespread human rights abuses, repression, antisemitism, and violence.

Petition e-7417 calls on the Government of Canada to take meaningful action in support of justice, accountability, and the Iranian People.

The petition calls upon the Government of Canada to:

1. Take leadership at the UN to address human rights violations in Iran;

2. Advance the (R2P) and ensure Canada does not vote in favour of actions that benefit the Iranian regime;

3. Condemn and coordinate with international allies to immediately halt all executions of political prisoners in Iran;

4. Immediately prioritize and fast-track immigration and asylum applications of Iranian activists at risk of deportation from Turkey and Armenia;

5. Strengthen screening and enforcement against individuals in Canada with ties to the regime or IRGC, including review of those involved in official negotiations with international bodies like the World Trade Organization; and

6. Expand support for tools that enable secure access to a free and open internet in Iran.

At Allied Voices for Israel (AVI), we believe that standing against hatred, extremism, and state-sponsored terror is a universal responsibility. Supporting those who seek freedom, dignity, and human rights transcends politics—it is a matter of shared humanity.

If you are eligible to sign, we encourage you to add your name before the petition closes TOMORROW!

On our newest episode of the Common Voices podcast, Allied Voices for Israel (AVI) Founder and Executive Director Daniel Koren (a Jewish-Canadian hailing from Israel) sits down with Ishaq Ismail (a Palestinian-Canadian raised and based in Edmonton) to take part in something that’s become increasingly rare: honest, respectful dialogue about one of the world’s most complex conflicts.

The episode challenges common misconceptions about what it means to be pro-Palestinian or pro-Israeli, rejecting the false choice between embracing one’s identity and promoting hate.

Together, Daniel and Ishaq, who recently launched the Bridge of Dialogue podcast, confront hatred and online extremism targeting both Jews and Muslims, as well as the polarization fuelled by social media, arguing that empathy and dialogue are essential if coexistence is ever to become a reality.

“Although social media has fed off the conflict in recent years through pop-up debate trends, and online rage-baiting, and fake news, AVI’s goals and aims aligns with the Bridge of Dialogue’s main goals: not to put us against one another, but to open up respectful and healthy conversations,” says Ishaq in a recent social media post.

We are excited to announce that to kick off our next Common Roots Ambassadorship, we will be taking our cohort of high school students on a trip to Houston, Texas, for an immersive exploration of coalition-building and advocacy.

As one of the most diverse cities in the United States, Houston offers a unique opportunity to hear from inspiring Jewish communal leaders, advocates, and interfaith partners who are building meaningful relationships and creating positive change within their communities.

Through engaging workshops, dynamic conversations, and hands-on learning, grade 8-12 students of all backgrounds will strengthen their advocacy and leadership skills, learn effective strategies for community engagement and storytelling, and connect with peers from across Canada.

Together, participants will explore how collaboration, allyship, and shared values can help create lasting impact while exploring Houston’s history and culture, enjoying exciting activities, and building friendships that will last a lifetime.

If you're looking for a community that feels like home and a program that pushes you to grow and learn, you just found it.
