PLUS: Iranian-Canadian students speak out with over 12,000 feared dead as Iranians continue to protest against their corrupt and tyrannical regime

Jewish students and Iranian students at York University join AVI's 'From Persia to Jerusalem' program in Toronto

It has been a dark and difficult time for the people of Iran who continue to protest against the corrupt and tyrannical Islamic Republic. Reports from CBS News and the Guardian both report that anywhere between 12,000 and 20,000 innocent civilians have been murdered since protests began.

On behalf of all of our Student ambassadors at Allied Voices for Israel (AVI), we stand in solidarity with our brave and courageous Iranian friends as they stage the biggest demonstrations the country has seen in years to further their quest for freedom, democracy, and peace.

To promote awareness of what Iranian-Canadian students are experiencing, we spoke with three students at the University of Toronto, Concordia, and University of Calgary, to get a better understanding of what they are going through and how we can offer our support.

Please read their testimonials below.

In our infographic series, If Iran Were Free, Everything Would Shift, we outline how a free Iran could change the Middle East by reducing regional tensions, fostering new diplomatic relationships, and shifting global economic opportunities.

Finally, AVI Student Ambassador Lotan recently shared a video about his experience attending a Free Iran protest in Toronto.

Lotan, a student at York University, stressed the importance of “standing with my Persian brothers and sisters” in calling for a free and democratic Iran. Well done, Lotan!
