Orian Wind-Granot, a Common Ground Ambassador from the University of Victoria, stood outside campus in solidarity with the Victoria, British Columbia community, at a vigil to pay tribute to the slain Bibas family.
In other West Coast campus news, Calgary Heritage MP Shuvaloy Majumdar Joined members of AVI and Students Supporting Israel (SSI) at the University of Calgary, where in a long-standing student tradition, they painted the school’s infamous rocks during a vigil honouring the memories of Shiri, Ariel, and Kfir Bibas.
At the 2025 BBYO International Conference, AVI Founder and Executive Director Daniel Koren sat down with Jewish-Indigenous Human Rights Advocate Lani Anpo, who spoke about the significance of proudly carrying her two identities, along with the beautiful similarities she sees between them.

We had a wonderful time tabling Save a Child's Heart, with members of Students Supporting Israel (SSI) at Toronto Metropolitan University. We were joined by AVI Common Ground Ambassador and AVI/HRC Campus Media Fellow Liat Schwartz, who was recently named SSI TMU's President!
We had a couple of allies stop by the table and get emotional as they learned about the incredible, lifesaving work at Save A Child's Heart, as well as our mission.
Our AVI Student Ambassadors teamed up with the ladies of Zeta Beta Omega's McMaster chapter to continue our tradition of handing out mishloach manot to other frats and sororities, teaching them all about the meaning of the Jewish holiday of Purim!
Even more students participated in this tradition than last year, spreading the joy of Purim far and wide.

Our hearts are still shattered by the most recent news coming out of Gaza - Hamas revealing the tragic fate of hostages Oded Lifshitz and the Bibas family.
During this time of immense pain and isolation, it is heartening to see the allies who have expressed their condolences over the brutal murders of Oded, Shiri, Ariel, and baby Kfir, whose bodies were brought into Israel for burial last week. To see the beautiful testimonies we have compiled, please click here.
Please note: In honour of Ariel, Kfir, Shiri, and Yarden Bibas, AVI has changed its main branding colour to orange. Our heart and prayers are with the entire Bibas Family.
