In Israel today, life is measured in the seconds it takes to reach a bomb shelter. Civilians live amidst the ring of sirens, the wreckage of fallen missiles, and the heavy grief of lives lost.
Yet, even as they face these threats to their very existence, the spirit of the Israeli people remains unbroken as they continue to stand in solidarity with our friends in Iran.
We know that the same genocidal IRGC launching missiles at homes in Israel is the very same regime that has spent four decades brutalizing, oppressing, and silencing the Iranian people. Our struggle is different, but our enemy is the same.
This week, AVI Alumna Ora Bar took to the boardwalks of Tel Aviv to capture this defiant spirit. Amidst the uncertainty and instability of war, she found Israelis who wanted to send one clear message to the brave men and women fighting back against oppression: You are not alone.
As we stand together against the darkness, the people of Israel declare resoundingly: “Next year in Tehran!”

Our meeting at AVI HQ from members of the Iranian community
A few nights ago, Allied Voices for Israel (AVI) hosted an important meeting with our Iranian friends and allies from the organization Cyrus the Great to discuss exciting initiatives that we are working on to celebrate Iranian-Jewish solidarity.
It was our honour to host our friends and share more about the work we're doing at AVI to empower Jewish and Iranian students to stand united against hatred. Stay tuned for details!

Our Founder and Executive Director Daniel Koren is now on Substack, sharing the sharp, investigative think pieces our community has come to rely on.
In his latest featured article, Koren explores a troubling double standard in the international conversation about the Middle East. He dives into why left-wing Israeli organizations are often used by the global community as “proof” of Israel's alleged faults, while a massive void exists on the other side. He writes:
“Groups like B’Tselem are often invoked as proof that even Israelis themselves believe the worst accusations about their own country. But here is the question almost nobody asks: If these organizations are so central to the conversation, where are their counterparts on the Palestinian side?”
The article challenges readers to look closer at the “asymmetry of dissent.” While Israeli civil society is defined by its ability to openly and fiercely criticize its own government, there is a glaring absence of Palestinian organizations that can safely or openly do the same regarding Hamas’s rule of violence and intimidation in Gaza.

Ahead of Passover, our AVI Student Ambassadors at Mount Royal University created their own Kotel in partnership with StandWithUs Canada, where students were invited to write messages answering the question, “What does freedom look like to you?”
The responses were incredibly touching and wide-ranging. One message in particular stood out: that this will be the first Passover with the hostages all freed, which is a momentous occasion and a reminder of what freedom truly means.

What happens when a journalist goes undercover and immerses herself in the heart of France’s radical left?
Join Allied Voices for Israel (AVI) and Doctors Against Racism and Antisemitism (DARA) in Montreal on April 16th for an exceptional evening with journalist Nora Bussigny, who will present her striking book, Les nouveaux antisémites (The New Antisemites).
After spending months infiltrating anti-Israel movements in France, Nora Bussigny returned with a chilling account of the evolution of systemic hatred within certain political circles.
We would like to thank our sponsors for this evening – The Bissell Family Foundation and The Institute for Public Affairs of Montreal.
The program will moderated in French by journalist Christian Rioux, who will take an in-depth look at Bussingby’s findings, the intersection between radical politics and modern antisemitism, and what these developments mean for the future of social cohesion in France, Quebec, and beyond.
